Voices Still Speaking is not a general public speaking program. It is a targeted framework focused on developing students who are often overlooked in classroom participation.
We serve students who are capable but under-participatory — those who hold back due to confidence barriers, hesitation, or difficulty expressing themselves in structured environments.
Founded by Abdul Haye, this initiative was built from lived experience and a belief that every student carries a voice worth developing.
Students develop the internal certainty to speak up — not just when asked, but when it matters.
Clear, organized communication that translates ideas into impact — in classrooms and beyond.
Students learn to occupy space — becoming visible, engaged, and recognized members of their community.
One session per week. Up to one hour. Delivered in small groups, integrated classrooms, or after-school settings.
Focus: Awareness & Participation
Students are introduced to the concept of their voice as a real, valuable presence. Activities focus on recognition — understanding that silence is a choice, not a sentence. The atmosphere is intentionally soft and non-threatening.
Focus: Overcoming Hesitation
The environment gets slightly more dynamic. Students are placed in structured challenges that simulate real-world hesitation moments. Techniques for managing nervousness, organizing thoughts under pressure, and speaking with intention are introduced.
Focus: Clarity & Organization
Participants learn to organize their thoughts into clear, structured communication. Introduction to frameworks for presenting ideas in ways that others can follow. The visual environment reflects organized geometry — chaos becoming order.
Focus: Consistency & Identity
Students bring everything together. This final session focuses on owning your voice — not just as a skill, but as an identity. A Certificate of Voice & Courage is presented to every participant who completes the program.
From community events to certificates of courage — this is what transformation looks like.
Students who complete the pilot can enter three development pathways — each designed to deepen, expand, and sustain their voice.
Technical training in verbal communication, delivery, and presentation. Students practice in real scenarios with structured feedback and progressive challenges.
A guided expression community where students share stories, support peers, and develop emotional vocabulary. Built on trust, consistency, and community accountability.
Leadership and mentorship pathway. Advanced students begin guiding newer participants — becoming living proof that voices can transform from whispers to beacons.
Voices Still Speaking is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing school environments without disruption. No major restructuring. No special classroom needed.
"Silence is not absence of voice.— Abdul Haye, Founder, Voices Still Speaking
It is a voice waiting for the right conditions."
